MrBeast Company Sued by Former Executive Over Sexual Harassment, Workplace Gender Bias Claims
Lorrayne Mavromatis, a former executive at Beast Industries, is pursuing a lawsuit against the media company owned by Jimmy Donaldson, widely known as MrBeast. The suit, filed after Mavromatis's employment from 2022 to 2025, details claims of sexual harassment and a pervasive gender bias within the workplace.
Allegations of a Hostile Environment
Mavromatis, who served as head of Instagram before a promotion, contends that harassment of women employees was \"condoned\" and that her complaints regarding a \"hostile environment\" were dismissed as \"unsubstantiated.\" Court documents cite an instance where she claims former Beast Industries CEO James Warren told her her \"appearance had a certain sexual effect on Jimmy\" when she questioned Donaldson's reluctance to collaborate on projects.
Following these complaints, Mavromatis alleges she was \"promptly demoted and transferred to an obscure role known by [company] employees as the division where 'careers go to die'.\" Her termination, less than three weeks after returning from pregnancy-related leave, was reportedly justified by claims she was \"too high-calibre\" for the role. Mavromatis is seeking lost wages, benefits, reinstatement, and various damages for \"mental anguish, humiliation, [and] embarrassment.\"
Company Denies Claims, Cites Evidence
Beast Industries has strongly refuted Mavromatis's allegations. A company representative described the lawsuit as \"built on deliberate misrepresentations and categorically false statements,\" asserting they possess \"extensive\" evidence, including messages, documents, and witness testimony, that \"unequivocally refutes\" the claims. The company stated Mavromatis's firing was part of a re-organisation that eliminated roles across both male and female employees, unconnected to performance.
Donaldson, with over 470 million subscribers across platforms, has previously faced legal challenges. In 2023, allegations surfaced claiming contestants in his \"Beast Games\" reality show were \"shamelessly exploited,\" which he denied. In 2024, an investigation commissioned by Donaldson cleared a former co-host of grooming allegations.
