Naga Munchetty Departs Television to Host Radio 5 Live Breakfast Programme
Veteran broadcaster Naga Munchetty will transition from television to radio, taking up the lead presenter position on Radio 5 Live's weekday breakfast programme. This move marks a significant shift in her career, departing from a prominent national morning news show where she has been a fixture for 17 years.
Munchetty's new role as the permanent lead presenter for the Radio 5 Live Breakfast programme will see her broadcasting from Monday to Wednesday. Her co-presenter for the three-day slot is yet to be announced. The current presenter, Rick Edwards, will continue to host the programme on Thursdays and Fridays.
The change is scheduled to take effect in the autumn, at which point Munchetty will cease her television commitments. Her long tenure on the morning television sofa has seen her cover numerous national and international events, solidifying her presence in British broadcasting.
