National Crime Agency Arrests Eight Over Forums Promoting Drugging and Rape
The National Crime Agency (NCA) has confirmed the arrest of eight individuals across the UK in connection with online forums dedicated to encouraging and detailing the drugging and rape of women. These arrests follow an extensive investigation into multiple websites where users shared information and celebrated such abhorrent acts.
The NCA's extensive intelligence gathering has so far identified 270 individuals linked to these abuse forums. This number underscores the scale of the problem and the networked nature of those involved in these illicit online communities. The agency stated that those arrested were actively participating in these forums, often posting content related to the commission of sexual offences.
Authorities have initiated criminal proceedings against some of the arrested individuals, with charges expected to include various sexual offences and involvement in online platforms that facilitate such crimes. The NCA's operation continues, with further arrests and investigations anticipated as they work to dismantle these networks and bring perpetrators to justice.
