Nineteen-Year-Old Woman Dies in Finchley After North London Gunshots

A 19-year-old woman was pronounced dead at a north London property in Dale Grove, Finchley, after police responded to reports of gunshots just after midnight on Monday. The London Ambulance Service had initially alerted officers.

The victim's family has been informed and is receiving support from specialist officers. The Metropolitan Police have confirmed no arrests have been made as inquiries continue to establish the full circumstances of the incident.

Detective Chief Inspector Allam Bhangoo, leading the investigation, stated, “Our thoughts are with the young woman's family at this incredibly difficult time as they begin to come to terms with their loss.” He added that an increased police presence would be visible in the community as inquiries progress, and urged residents with concerns to speak with officers.

A formal identification and post-mortem examination are pending to determine the cause of death.
