Folkestone Hotel Fire Leads to Arson Arrests for Man, Woman

A man, 38, and a woman, 21, have been apprehended by Kent Police on suspicion of arson after a significant fire erupted at the Grand Burstin Hotel in Folkestone. Emergency services were dispatched to the harbour-front property shortly after 22:00 BST on Saturday.

Fire crews from Kent Fire and Rescue Service worked through the night to bring the blaze under control. Witnesses reported seeing flames and smoke emanating from sections of the hotel. There have been no reported casualties from the incident.

Police stated that both individuals remain in custody as enquiries proceed into the cause of the fire. The extent of the damage to the Grand Burstin Hotel has not yet been fully assessed, but the building sustained considerable impact from the conflagration.
