Nottingham Man Charged With Five Attempted Murders After Arnold Car Ramming
A Nottinghamshire man has been charged with five counts of attempted murder after a vehicle was driven into a group of pedestrians in Arnold town centre on Saturday.
Duane Anthony, 40, of Marton Road, Chilwell, is due to appear at Nottingham Magistrates' Court. He also faces charges of aggravated vehicle taking, driving while disqualified, and driving without valid insurance.
The incident occurred in Market Place, Arnold, at approximately 01:10 BST. A Vauxhall Astra struck five men, leaving one with life-threatening injuries. He is currently in hospital in a critical condition. The other four men sustained minor injuries.
Detective Chief Inspector Ruby Burrow, leading the investigation, stated that victims and their families have been informed of the charges. She urged the public to refrain from online speculation, emphasising its potential to hinder the ongoing pursuit of justice.
