Pentagon Releases 1948 Reports: US Intelligence Officer Details Countless Orange Orbs
The Pentagon has released a tranche of Unidentified Flying Object (UFO) files, detailing sightings of "green orbs, discs and fireballs" dating back to 1948. This release includes six documents, audio recordings, and 51 videos, one depicting a UFO being destroyed by gunfire under unexplained circumstances.
A 1948-1950 Armed Forces Special Weapons Program report, comprising 116 pages, documents 209 sightings of unidentified objects, now termed "unidentified anomalous phenomena" (UAP). Accounts from Sandia, New Mexico, describe UAPs manoeuvring, disappearing, and then exploding.
More recently, an unnamed senior US intelligence officer recounted witnessing "countless orange orbs swarming in all directions" from a military helicopter in 2025 over the western United States. Investigating "loud thuds heard in the mountains," the officer described "super-hot," high-speed, oval-shaped orange orbs with white or yellow centres. These objects reportedly coalesced into a distinct triangle before vanishing.
The files provide no definitive conclusions regarding extraterrestrial life or alien technology. Most videos released feature grainy footage from US military infrared cameras between 2018 and 2023. One purports to show an object shot down over Lake Huron in February 2023, around the period a Chinese surveillance balloon crossed the United States. Another video reportedly shows a spherical UAP over the Yellow Sea in 2022. Additional files are expected to be released on a rolling basis.
