Police Scotland Investigates Andrew and Epstein Balmoral Visits After New Information
Police Scotland has initiated "active inquiries" following new information concerning alleged visits by Prince Andrew and the late convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein to Balmoral Estate. The force confirmed receipt of this information, emphasising that its investigation remains in its nascent stages.
Reports suggest Epstein, who died in a US prison in 2019, may have visited the Scottish royal residence on multiple occasions. These claims have been a persistent feature of the extensive scrutiny surrounding Prince Andrew's association with Epstein.
The Metropolitan Police previously discontinued its own inquiries into Epstein's activities and his connections to UK figures in 2021, citing a lack of evidence to pursue a criminal investigation. However, the emergence of fresh details appears to have prompted Police Scotland to re-examine the matter.
This renewed focus underscores the enduring questions surrounding the nature of Prince Andrew's relationship with Epstein and the extent of Epstein's access to prominent circles, including royal residences. The investigation's outcome will be closely scrutinised, particularly given the previous failure of UK authorities to bring charges related to Epstein's alleged activities in Britain.
