Prince Harry and Meghan to Bring Children Archie, Lilibet to UK in July
The Duke and Duchess of Sussex are expected to bring their children, Archie, seven, and Lilibet, five, to the UK in July. This visit will be the first time Prince Harry has returned to his birth country with his family in four years. The timing coincides with the one-year countdown to the Invictus Games.
Prince Harry has previously expressed a desire for his children to visit the UK. The security arrangements for the upcoming visit remain unclear.
It is not yet known if King Charles will meet his grandchildren during this trip. The King last saw Archie and Lilibet during the late Queen’s Platinum Jubilee celebrations in 2022. Prince Harry had a meeting with King Charles in Clarence House in September, their first face-to-face encounter since February 2024, following calls for “reconciliation” within the Royal Family.
Prince Harry’s official police protection was downgraded after he stepped back from frontline royal duties in 2020 and relocated to the US. In May, he lost a legal challenge to reinstate this protection when visiting the UK. He previously stated that without such security, it was unsafe to bring his family to the country. A government spokesperson affirmed that the UK’s protective security system is “rigorous and proportionate,” adding that details of these arrangements are not disclosed to avoid compromising their integrity.
The Invictus Games, founded by Prince Harry in 2014, will be held in Birmingham next year.
