Prosecutors Seek Tiger Woods' Prescription Drug Records Following DUI Charge
Court documents reveal a legal request for Tiger Woods' prescription medication records, which could be crucial for the prosecution's case. This subpoena is scheduled for issuance on 22 April, unless Woods' legal team objects within 10 days.
Incident Details
Woods was arrested and charged with DUI last month following a car crash in Florida. Body camera footage released by police showed the golfer after his vehicle clipped a truck and rolled over. In the footage, Woods appears calm, stating, "I looked down at my phone, and all of a sudden, boom."
Despite passing a breathalyser test, Woods declined a urinalysis screening. He informed officers he had not consumed alcohol but admitted to taking multiple prescription medications earlier that morning. Authorities subsequently discovered two white pills, identified as hydrocodone, in his pocket.
Woods' Response and History
Following the incident, Woods posted on social media, acknowledging the seriousness of the situation and confirming his intention to seek treatment to prioritise his wellbeing and pursue lasting recovery.
This marks Woods' second arrest on suspicion of driving under the influence. In 2017, he was found asleep in a parked car, with a toxicology report later revealing five different drugs in his system, including prescription pain medications and sleep aids.
