
Richard Hammond Fined £999 After Two Herefordshire Speeding Offences
Richard Hammond, known for his work on motoring television programmes, has been fined a total of £999 and received six penalty points for two separate speeding violations in Herefordshire. The offences occurred within a three-week period, magistrates in Worcester heard.
The first incident took place on the A449 at Hawford, near Worcester, on 20 April. Hammond was recorded travelling at 70 mph in a designated 60 mph zone. The second infraction occurred on 10 May on the A417 at St Owen's Cross, where his vehicle was clocked at 36 mph in a 30 mph limit.
Hammond, who resides in Weston-under-Penyard, Ross-on-Wye, admitted both offences through a guilty plea. He was ordered to pay the fine, along with £99 in a victim surcharge and £100 in court costs.
