Russian Drone Strikes Kyiv Security Headquarters; Zelensky Reports No Fatalities

A Russian drone impacted the Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) headquarters in Kyiv, President Volodymyr Zelensky confirmed. The unmanned aerial vehicle was reportedly intercepted by Ukrainian air defence systems over the capital.

Reports from Kyiv's mayor, Vitali Klitschko, indicated that debris from the downed drone caused damage to a non-residential building in the Solomyanskyi district. While emergency services responded to the scene, there were no immediate reports of fatalities from the incident.

This strike follows an earlier drone attack on Kyiv, which saw debris fall onto a civilian airport and damage a residential building. Ukrainian officials have asserted that all incoming drones in that prior incident were neutralised by air defences.

The targeting of the SBU headquarters in the heart of Kyiv underscores the continued, indiscriminate nature of hostilities, with civilian infrastructure and state institutions remaining under threat.
