Sagal Abdi-Wali Secures Holborn and St Pancras Labour Victory Against Green Leader
Sagal Abdi-Wali has secured the Holborn and St Pancras constituency for the Labour Party in the recent by-election, maintaining the party's presence in the north London seat. Ms Abdi-Wali garnered 11,365 votes, exceeding Green Party co-leader Zack Polanski's 6,839 votes.
Mr Polanski's performance represents a notable increase for the Green Party within the constituency, with their vote share rising from 12.3% in the 2024 general election to 31.9% in this by-election. Despite this shift, the outcome underscores Labour's established political dominance in the area, particularly following previous high-profile wins.
The Conservative candidate, Julian Teeling, secured 1,895 votes, resulting in a 9% share of the vote. Liberal Democrat candidate Sarahన్e Davies received 1,280 votes, or 6% of the total. The by-election saw a turnout of 28%, reflecting typical participation rates for such contests.
