South Africa: Man Admits Firearm Offences After Wife and Daughters Found Dead in UK

Sibusiso Rodger Tshabala, 60, has admitted to possessing illegal firearms and ammunition in South Africa, two months after his wife and two daughters were discovered dead in their home in Killamarsh, North East Derbyshire. Mr Tshabala appeared in a Durban court this week, facing charges unrelated to the murders, for which he has not yet entered a plea.

The bodies of Thembi Tshabala, 54, and her daughters, Mia, 21, and Alexia, 16, were found by police on 12th December at their property on Marsh Lane. Post-mortem examinations have been conducted, but Derbyshire Police have yet to release the formal causes of death.

South African authorities initiated an investigation into Mr Tshabala for alleged immigration offences following the discovery of the bodies. During the subsequent search of his South African property, the illegal weapons were reportedly found, leading to his current charges. He has been remanded in custody, with his next court appearance scheduled for 18th March.
