Ten Nepali climbers are currently unaccounted for following an avalanche that struck a base camp on Himlung Himal, a 7,126-metre peak in the Himalayas. The incident occurred as the team was making preparations to guide overseas climbers up the mountain.

Authorities have initiated a search and rescue operation, dispatching a helicopter to the remote location. However, adverse weather conditions, including heavy snow and low visibility, are significantly impeding efforts to reach the affected area and locate the missing individuals.

The climbers were reportedly establishing logistical support at the base camp, a standard procedure before ascending higher altitudes with their clients. The sudden and powerful avalanche has raised immediate concerns for their safety in the treacherous Himalayan environment.
