Woman Charged with Attempted Murder After Car Hits Three in Soho, One Critical
Gabrielle Carrington, 29, of Broadfield Road, Manchester, has been remanded into custody after appearing at Westminster Magistrates' Court. She is charged with attempted murder, grievous bodily harm with intent, actual bodily harm, and drink-driving.
The charges stem from an incident on Sunday morning in Argyll Street, Soho, where a car reportedly struck pedestrians at approximately 04:30 BST.
Klaudia Zakrzewska, 30, remains in a life-threatening condition in hospital. Anoush Chyche, a man in his 50s and a security guard, sustained 'life-changing injuries'. A third individual, Latisha Armstrong, suffered actual bodily harm.
The court heard that Carrington, known on Instagram as RIELLEUK and a former X Factor contestant, had 61 micrograms of alcohol per 100 millilitres of breath when tested.
Carrington is scheduled to appear next at the Old Bailey on 19 May. The Crown Prosecution Service has cautioned against any reporting or commentary that could prejudice the ongoing legal proceedings.
