Woman, Child Die in West London Elthorne Park Water Incident on Saturday

A woman and a young child, thought to be mother and son, died after encountering difficulties in water at Elthorne Park in Ealing, west London.

Metropolitan Police confirmed that emergency services, responding to calls on Saturday, found both individuals deceased at the scene. An investigation has been initiated, though initial indications suggest the circumstances are not suspicious.

Detective Superintendent Pete Thackray, from the West Area Command Unit, stated, "This is a tragic incident in which a woman and her young child have lost their lives. Our thoughts are with their loved ones." He further acknowledged the efforts of first responders and members of the public.

Officers are currently working to identify the next of kin for the deceased.
