Morrisons plans to close 100 loss-making convenience stores, primarily acquired through its 2022 McColl's acquisition. The supermarket attributes these closures to significant cost increases stemming from government policy decisions, including national living wage hikes and National Insurance contributions. Hundreds of jobs are understood to be at risk.
