50 Cent Sought Bail for Drug Dealer Abdirahiim Hassan Ahead of European Tour
US rapper 50 Cent, whose real name is Curtis Jackson, wrote to a judge requesting bail for Abdirahiim Hassan in 2019. This intervention was intended to allow Hassan to accompany Jackson on a European tour. Hassan, described by Jackson as a ", was subsequently jailed at Derby Crown Court.
Hassan received a sentence of five years and two months for his involvement in a Class A drug supply conspiracy. The court heard he was part of a county lines operation distributing cocaine and heroin in Derbyshire. The request from Jackson detailed Hassan's role as a runner for his production company, stating that Hassan's "duties would include the day-to-day management of my travel, lodgings and other logistics, whilst on tour".
Despite the rapper's plea, which also offered to ensure Hassan's compliance with any bail conditions, the court proceeded with the charges. The case highlights the divergent legal standards and judicial processes between celebrity influence and the practicalities of a UK drug trafficking conviction.
