
Apple Appoints John Ternus Chief Executive, Tim Cook Transitions to Executive Chairman
Apple has confirmed John Ternus will assume the role of chief executive, replacing Tim Cook, effective 1 September. Mr. Ternus, who has dedicated 25 years to Apple and currently serves as its head of hardware engineering, will take the helm following a transition period.
Tim Cook, who succeeded the late Steve Jobs in 2011, will move into the position of executive chairman. In this new capacity, Mr. Cook is expected to engage with policymakers globally, among other corporate responsibilities. The leadership change represents a significant shift for the technology conglomerate.
