Body Found Near Lake Cargelligo Believed to Be Fugitive Julian Ingram
Fugitive Julian Ingram's Body Potentially Located by New South Wales Police
A body discovered in rural New South Wales is believed to be that of Julian Ingram, the man sought for the murders of three individuals in Lake Cargelligo in January. Ingram was reportedly on bail for domestic violence offences when his pregnant ex-partner, Sophie Quinn, her friend, and her aunt were shot dead.
New South Wales Police confirmed on Monday that a body, identified by clothing and location, was found next to an abandoned ute approximately 50km north-west of Lake Cargelligo. The vehicle has been confirmed as the one driven by Ingram, who was last seen on 22 January.
Assistant Commissioner Andrew Holland stated that the body appeared to have been there for "some time" and was located by wildlife officers. The alleged shootings on 22 January also left a 19-year-old man seriously injured, though he has since been discharged from hospital.
Authorities had deployed around 100 officers in the search for Ingram, who, as a local council employee, possessed extensive knowledge of the area. Holland expressed that the identification of the body would bring "closure to this investigation" and offer "some solace to the town" of Lake Cargelligo, which has a population of about 1,500.
