Bootle Mother Records Suspected Arson Attempt on Home CCTV

A woman in Bootle has provided police with CCTV footage showing a suspected arson attempt at her home. Holly Cham, 33, discovered significant damage to her front door and porch after reviewing surveillance recordings from the early hours of 20 May.

The footage reportedly shows an individual approaching Ms Cham's property before a flash of light appears, followed by flames. The blaze caused extensive damage, melting the PVC door and porch and destroying children’s toys stored outside. Ms Cham, who lives with her three young children, stated that the incident has left her deeply unsettled and unable to sleep.

Merseyside Police confirmed they are investigating the incident as arson. No arrests have been made, and officers are appealing for witnesses or anyone with information to come forward. The incident highlights ongoing concerns within the community regarding public safety and the prevalence of such attacks.
