California Animal Rescue Site Yields 117 Dead Dogs, Many Shot
A California 'no-kill' animal rescue facility is under intense scrutiny after authorities discovered 117 dead dogs on its grounds. Many of the recovered animals exhibited gunshot wounds, indicating a disturbing pattern of deliberate harm rather than natural causes.
The deceased animals were found during an excavation of the property, which housed the JRT Exotics Animal Rescue. This operation, situated near Fontana in Southern California, billed itself as a sanctuary for animals, yet evidence suggests a systemic failure in its stated mission.
Officials from San Bernardino County Animal Services confirmed the significant death toll and the presence of ballistic trauma on numerous carcasses. The ongoing investigation is attempting to account for hundreds of additional animals reportedly housed at the site, which remain missing. The precise circumstances leading to these deaths and disappearances are under active investigation by law enforcement agencies.
