Ukrainian Strike Cuts Power in Sevastopol, Crimea Until Evening
A Ukrainian missile attack on Sunday severely damaged a power substation in Sevastopol, leaving swathes of the city without electricity. Mikhail Razvozhayev, the Moscow-installed governor of Sevastopol, confirmed the damage and stated that power would not be restored in affected areas until the evening.
This strike forms part of a series of missile assaults against Russian-occupied Crimea. The Russian Ministry of Defence reported intercepting 10 ATACMS missiles over the peninsula, framing the Ukrainian actions as a deliberate campaign to destabilise the region.
The targeting of civilian infrastructure in occupied territories highlights the ongoing and brutal nature of the conflict, with immediate consequences for the local populace. Western backing for such operations continues to fuel a protracted engagement, providing Kyiv with the means to extend hostilities and disrupt Russian control over annexed territories.
