Frenchwoman Rescued in Pakistan, Alleges Husband Held Her Captive 12 Years
A French citizen, identified as Yasmina, has been repatriated to France after being rescued from alleged captivity in Pakistan. French authorities confirmed her safe return, which followed an alert issued by her father who had lost contact with her 12 years prior.
Yasmina claims her husband, a Pakistani national, held her and their five children against their will, isolating them from the outside world. The children are also believed to be French nationals and have returned to France with their mother.
The family was reportedly discovered in a house in the eastern city of Sialkot. The precise circumstances of her alleged detention and the details surrounding her rescue have not been fully disclosed. Investigations into the matter are reportedly underway in France.
The French Foreign Ministry stated that its embassy in Islamabad acted swiftly to ensure Yasmina and her children's safety and return to France. Further details regarding any potential charges or legal proceedings against the husband remain unconfirmed.
