
Child Dies After Road Collision in Leicestershire; Lorry Driver Arrested
A child has tragically died after being involved in a collision with a lorry in Leicestershire. The incident occurred on Monday on the A511 Ashby Road East, near the junction with Bardon Road, in Coalville.
Emergency services were called to the scene at approximately 11:30 BST. The child was pronounced dead shortly after.
Leicestershire Police confirmed that the driver of the lorry, a 42-year-old man, has been arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving. He remains in police custody.
Detectives are appealing for anyone who witnessed the collision or has dashcam footage from the area at the time to come forward. Information can be provided to the police by calling 101, quoting incident number 258 of 24 June.
