
Couple Charged Following Fatal Flitwick Collision
Jamie Fountain, 24, and Ellie Ireland, 23, have been charged in connection with a fatal collision in Flitwick, Bedfordshire, which resulted in the death of 13-year-old Noah Campbell. The incident, involving a car, a bike, and a scooter, occurred at approximately 23:50 BST on Friday, also leaving two other teenage boys seriously injured.
Court Appearance and Charges
Mr Fountain, a groundworker from Fir Tree Close, Flitwick, appeared before Luton magistrates charged with causing death by careless driving, causing death by careless driving while over the legal limit for alcohol and drugs, and two counts of causing serious injury by careless driving. He also faces charges of failing to stop at the scene of an accident, failing to report an accident, and conspiracy to pervert the course of justice. Ms Ireland, an EasyJet cabin crew member from Wingate Drive, Ampthill, was charged with conspiracy to pervert the course of justice.
Both defendants were remanded in custody and are scheduled to appear at Luton Crown Court on 5 May.
Victim's Family Tribute
Noah Campbell's family released a poignant tribute through the police, describing him as a "fun, bright, handsome, athletic" and "incredibly well-liked" boy. Police confirmed that one of the other injured teenagers remains in hospital in a serious condition.
