Coventry Driver Dolars Aleksanders Pleads Guilty to Schoolboy Keaton Slater's Death

Dolars Aleksanders, 21, has pleaded guilty to causing death by dangerous driving following a collision that killed 12-year-old Keaton Slater in Coventry. The incident occurred on 14 June when Aleksanders' BMW struck the schoolboy as he was walking home. Aleksanders subsequently failed to stop at the scene.

The guilty plea was entered during a hearing at Warwick Crown Court. Aleksanders also admitted to a charge of driving without a licence and a separate count of driving without insurance. West Midlands Police launched a comprehensive search for Aleksanders after the collision, eventually arresting him in the Stoke area.

Keaton Slater’s family released a statement through West Midlands Police following the tragedy, expressing profound grief and appealing for privacy. The conviction of Aleksanders brings a measure of legal closure to the case, with sentencing scheduled to take place at a later date.
