Culture Secretary Pledges New Laws to Combat Online Doxxing of RNLI Volunteers

Shadow Culture Secretary Lisa Nandy has announced that a Labour government would legislate against the practice of 'doxxing', where individuals' private information, such as home addresses, is shared online without consent. This commitment comes after reports detailing how RNLI volunteers have had their personal details publicly circulated.

Ms Nandy condemned the dissemination of private information as 'unacceptable', emphasising that individuals should not face harassment or intimidation for their public service. The proposed legislation aims to provide stronger protections for those targeted by such online activities, ensuring that those who facilitate or engage in doxxing face appropriate consequences.
