One musician performing at the venue recounted crawling for an exit as the fire rapidly spread. He described being thrown from the building by what felt like an explosion, sustaining burns to his legs. Other witnesses reported the fire originating on the stage before quickly engulfing the ceiling.

Initial reports indicate that many patrons were unable to escape due to the speed of the blaze and potentially blocked exits.
