DHL Staff at Jaguar Land Rover Vote for Indefinite Strike Over Pay
A significant industrial dispute is set to impact Jaguar Land Rover's production, as approximately 300 DHL logistics staff have confirmed their intention to commence an indefinite strike. These workers are responsible for the critical delivery of parts and vehicles to JLR's Solihull manufacturing facility.
Pay Dispute Triggers Action
The decision to strike, effective from 7th May, stems from DHL's failure to put forward a pay offer for the year 2026. Typically, such an offer would be implemented annually in January. Unite, the union representing the workers, has criticised this omission, asserting that DHL, a "hugely profitable" organisation, can well afford to present an acceptable remuneration package.
Further industrial action looms as DHL HGV drivers, engaged on the JLR contract across Birmingham, Wolverhampton, Solihull, and Widnes, have also voted in favour of striking. Dates for these additional actions are yet to be announced, signalling a potential escalation of disruption to Jaguar Land Rover's supply chain and production.
