Thames Water CEO Chris Weston Rejects Leakage Targets as Unrealistic

Chris Weston, the recently appointed Chief Executive of Thames Water, has declared that several of the company's mandated leakage reduction targets are 'not realistic'. Speaking on his hundredth day in the role, Mr. Weston indicated that while Thames Water aspires 'to do better', the current regulatory benchmarks are simply not achievable. This stance emerges as the utility navigates significant financial instability, which includes a plea to Ofwat to permit an increase in customer charges exceeding 40%.
