Edinburgh Man with Weapon Hospitalises Four, Smashes Petrol Station, Damages Property
A bare-chested man, armed with a large weapon, was arrested in Edinburgh after a series of incidents left four people in hospital. Police confirmed an arrest was made and the public was no longer at risk, though details on the injured parties' conditions remain unreleased. Enquiries are ongoing into the full extent of the man's actions.
Witnesses observed the man causing disorder at various locations across the city. Footage circulated online shows him repeatedly striking the locked door of an Origano pizzeria on Leith Walk, forcing staff to deploy electronic shutters as the public fled. Another video captured him inside a petrol station kiosk, where he was seen pushing over shelves and scattering items after previously damaging the windscreen of a black vehicle outside.
A significant police presence and cordon were later established around a 'Your Move' estate agent, where paramedics were observed attending to a clothed man with an arm in a sling. Ultimately, an officer was filmed apprehending a topless man on the ground, who reportedly shouted about 'protecting the country' during the arrest.
