French Police Detain Two Suspects After Sonia Bellina's Body Discovered in Vineyard
French police have detained two individuals following the discovery of influencer Sonia Bellina's body in a vineyard in the Hérault region of southern France. The victim, 32, was found deceased near the village of Baillargues. Authorities have categorised the incident as a particularly brutal killing.
Reports from local media indicate that Ms Bellina went missing on 25 May, after leaving a nightclub in Montpellier. Her family subsequently launched an appeal for information regarding her whereabouts. A criminal investigation was promptly initiated into her disappearance.
According to Jean-Marc Darrigade, a lawyer representing Ms Bellina's family, her body was "abandoned" after what he described as "a murder of rare savagery". Police located Ms Bellina's vehicle near the vineyard where her remains were discovered, leading to initial forensic examinations of the scene. The investigation continues as authorities piece together the circumstances surrounding her death.
