
Golders Green Supermarket Fire Engages 100 Firefighters, Road Closures in North-West London
Emergency services are currently managing a major fire at a three-storey building on Golders Green Road in north-west London. The structure, comprising a supermarket on the ground floor and flats above, became engulfed in flames shortly after 06:45 BST, prompting 56 calls to the London Fire Brigade.
Fifteen fire engines are presently tackling the incident, with personnel drawn from Willesden, Finchley, and West Hampstead stations. The Brigade has issued an advisory for residents in the immediate area to keep all windows and doors closed, citing a "significant amount of smoke" emanating from the site.
Metropolitan Police officers are on location, assisting with public safety and initial evacuations. While no injuries have been reported, several road closures are in effect, notably on Golders Green Road near its junction with Beverley Gardens, to facilitate emergency operations. The precise cause of the fire remains under investigation.
