The government has withdrawn its offer of 1,000 new doctor training posts in England, a decision made after the British Medical Association (BMA) refused to call off a six-day strike scheduled for next week. Prime Minister Sir Keir Starmer had set a 48-hour deadline for the BMA to cancel the industrial action, stating that failure to do so would result in the offer's retraction.
