Hasbro, owner of Peppa Pig and Transformers, suffers cyber-attack
Hasbro, the multinational toy and entertainment conglomerate behind iconic brands such as Peppa Pig, Transformers, and Monopoly, has confirmed an unauthorised intrusion into its network.
The company disclosed the cyber-attack in a filing to the US government, indicating that the breach was identified on 28th March. In response, parts of Hasbro's and its brand websites experienced error messages, and the company has warned of potential delays to product deliveries.
A spokesperson for Hasbro assured that "business operations remain open" and that "swift action" has been taken, including taking some systems offline, to safeguard its systems and data. While measures are in place to continue processing and shipping orders, these could be required for "several weeks" and may lead to "some delays."
Details regarding the perpetrators, whether they remain within the company's systems, or if customer data has been compromised, are currently unknown.
