Heathrow Airport Train Services Halted by Burst Water Main, Signalling Faults
Train services operating to and from Heathrow Airport have been entirely suspended following a burst water main at an airport station, leading to significant flooding and technical faults. Passengers travelling to the airport are advised to allocate additional time and make alternative travel arrangements.
Heathrow Express, which typically provides a service every 15 minutes between Paddington and the airport, has ceased operations in both directions. The service's official website attributes the closure to a signalling system fault.
Furthermore, Transport for London has confirmed the Elizabeth line is suspended between Hayes and Harlington and Heathrow Airport. This disruption is a direct result of a signal failure, which TFL states was caused by flooding at Heathrow Terminals 2 & 3.
The Piccadilly line is also currently closed between Heathrow and Acton Town, unrelated to the flooding, as part of scheduled maintenance works. Heathrow Airport has issued an apology for the inconvenience experienced by travellers.
