Hyde Park Corner Closed After Cyclist Suffers Serious Injuries in Lorry Collision
Hyde Park Corner in central London has been subject to a substantial police cordon after a serious road collision. The incident, which occurred on Saturday, involved a cyclist and a lorry, with the cyclist reportedly in a serious condition in hospital.
Grosvenor Place, a primary dual carriageway connecting Hyde Park Corner with Victoria, remained closed to traffic at 19:00 BST. Approximately ten police vehicles were observed at the scene, where a Lime bike, a cement lorry, two cars, and a moped were positioned within the cordoned-off area.
Transport for London (TfL) has reported widespread delays across central London roads surrounding the incident. Drivers have been advised to seek alternative routes due to the closure of Grosvenor Place at the junction of Duke of Wellington Place.
Traffic delays have impacted several key routes, including southbound Park Lane to Upper Grosvenor Street, eastbound Old Brompton Road to Yeomans Row, and Grosvenor Place northbound to Lower Grosvenor Place. Lower Grosvenor Place and Buckingham Palace Road to Eccleston Street have also experienced considerable disruption following the collision.
