King Charles and Queen Camilla to Tour Antigua, Bahamas, and Guyana This Autumn

King Charles III and Queen Camilla will undertake an eight-day visit to the Caribbean this autumn. The tour commences in Antigua, where the royal couple will conduct joint engagements. Following the Antiguan leg, King Charles is slated to travel independently to the Bahamas and Guyana, completing the itinerary without the Queen.

This visit occurs amidst ongoing demands within several Commonwealth nations for reparations related to historical slavery and a re-evaluation of the monarchy's role. The King has previously acknowledged the “appalling atrocity of slavery” and the monarchy’s connection to it.

The specific dates for the autumn tour have not yet been publicly released. The Palace statement noted the King's personal commitment to addressing the legacy of the transatlantic slave trade.
