King Charles III has stated he is "heartbroken" by the recent flash floods in Nepal, an event that has claimed more than 100 lives. The Nepalese authorities confirm that 33 individuals from the United Kingdom are currently listed as missing, including a 13-year-old girl and a 14-year-old boy.

The monarch, who maintains a close relationship with Nepal and its Gurkha regiments, conveyed his sympathies to the victims and their families. Buckingham Palace confirmed the King's deep concern for all those affected by the natural disaster.

Nepal's mountainous terrain and poorly constructed infrastructure make it particularly vulnerable to severe weather events during the monsoon season.
