
London Man Charged with Murder After Body Discovered in Kent Woods Suitcase
Mahesh Wickramasingha, 32, from south-east London, has been charged with the murder of a man whose body was found within a suitcase in woodland near Chilham, close to Ashford, Kent.
Police discovered the remains on 14 June, prompting an investigation. Mr Wickramasingha was arrested on Thursday, 20 June, and subsequently charged.
In connection with the same incident, Dammi Wickramasingha, 63, also from south-east London, has been charged with perverting the course of justice. Both individuals are scheduled to appear before Medway Magistrates' Court on Monday.
Kent Police stated that their enquiries into the circumstances surrounding the death are ongoing.
