M20 Crash Involves Over 30 Vehicles, Two Suffer Serious Injuries in Kent
Two people sustained serious injuries following a multi-vehicle collision on the M20 motorway in Kent. The incident, which occurred at approximately 18:40 BST on Saturday, involved over 30 vehicles and prompted a substantial emergency response.
Kent Police confirmed the collision took place between junctions 8 (Leeds Castle) and 9 (Ashford) on the coast-bound carriageway. Both the coast-bound and London-bound carriageways were subsequently closed for several hours, causing considerable traffic delays and diversions.
Emergency services, including police, ambulance crews, and fire brigades, attended the scene. While two individuals were hospitalised with serious injuries, their conditions are not believed to be life-threatening. A number of other motorists received treatment at the scene for minor injuries.
Investigators are now working to determine the precise circumstances that led to the extensive pile-up. The closures remained in effect into Sunday morning as debris clearance and accident reconstruction efforts continued.
