Manchester Synagogue Attack: Man Arrested Over Failure to Disclose Terrorist Information
A 49-year-old man has been taken into custody in connection with the October 2025 Heaton Park Hebrew Congregation synagogue attack. The arrest, made on Tuesday evening, is on suspicion of failing to disclose information relating to terrorist activity.
The attack, carried out by Jihad Al-Shamie, 35, of Prestwich, involved a car and a knife, resulting in the deaths of worshippers Adrian Daulby and Melvin Cravitz. Al-Shamie was subsequently killed by police at the scene.
Counter Terrorism Policing North West confirmed the detention and stated that a property on St James' Road in Higher Broughton, Salford, was raided. This latest arrest brings the total number of individuals apprehended in connection with the incident to eight.
Previously, a 30-year-old man was charged with failing to disclose information relating to terrorist activity, and another individual faces charges for terrorism offences not directly linked to the synagogue attack.
Assistant Chief Constable Rob Potts of Counter Terrorism Policing North West stated that the suspected offence "relates directly" to the attack. He affirmed that the families of Mr Daulby and Mr Cravitz, along with those injured, have been informed of this development. Mr Potts reiterated the commitment to uncovering the full circumstances behind the attack.
