Manchester United is set to honour PC Matthew Blades, a 46-year-old Cumbria Police officer who tragically died in a road traffic collision on the A66 in February. The club confirmed plans to pay tribute during their upcoming Premier League fixture against Ipswich.

PC Blades, described as a devoted fan, was involved in a collision between a car and a lorry near Penrith. His widow and two children are expected to be present at Old Trafford for the occasion, where the club will acknowledge his service and support.

Cumbria Police previously stated that PC Blades was off-duty at the time of the incident. He had served with the force for over two decades, having joined in 2000.
