Mayfair Watch Theft: Two Men Convicted of £137,000 Robbery Outside Restaurant
Rico Burton, 21, and Jordan Northover, 28, have been convicted at Isleworth Crown Court for their roles in the robbery of a £137,000 watch from a fashion designer. The incident occurred outside the London restaurant Mnky Hse in Mayfair in August 2020.
The court heard that the victim, who had been dining with friends, was targeted as he left the premises. The watch was forcibly cut from his wrist in what police described as a "planned attack."
Burton, of Newham, east London, was found guilty of robbery. Northover, from Southwark, south London, was convicted of both robbery and possession of an offensive weapon. Both men are due to be sentenced at a later date. A third individual, Tommy Kinneen, 30, of no fixed address, had previously pleaded guilty to robbery in connection with the same incident.
Detective Constable Robert Evans highlighted the "significant financial value" of the stolen item and emphasised the coordinated nature of the crime. The convictions follow a police investigation that traced the perpetrators through CCTV and forensic evidence.
