Metropolitan Police Investigating Joshua Robbins' Fatal Balcony Fall in South London
The Metropolitan Police are conducting an investigation into the death of Joshua Robbins, 27, who fell from a fourth-floor balcony in south London after the railing gave way. A pre-inquest review at Southwark Coroner's Court heard Mr Robbins was checking on a pizza delivery when the incident occurred at a block of flats on Union Road, Clapham, on 6 October 2023.
Detective Sergeant Jamie Hamilton informed the court that the investigation remains ongoing. Coroner Dr Julian Morris acknowledged that a full inquest would not be possible until the police inquiry concludes.
Mr Robbins, originally from Sheffield, had recently moved to London. His family were present at the pre-inquest review. The court confirmed that Mr Robbins was pronounced dead at the scene following the fall. The date for a full inquest has yet to be determined, pending the outcome of the police investigation.
