Mother and Partner Imprisoned for Isabelle Welsh Murder After Prolonged Abuse
A woman and her partner have been handed life sentences following their conviction for the murder of 17-month-old Isabelle Welsh. Chelsea Stott, 22, and Liam O'Keefe, 24, were found guilty of a sustained campaign of abuse against the child, culminating in her death.
During proceedings, the court heard harrowing evidence of the 'sadistic' violence inflicted upon Isabelle. Prosecutors detailed injuries consistent with prolonged physical torment and neglect, which ultimately led to the fatal trauma.
Mr. Justice Dove condemned the pair's actions, emphasising the profound breach of trust and the defencelessness of the victim. He stated that the minimum term Stott would serve is 19 years, while O'Keefe received a minimum of 22 years before being considered for parole.
