Mother Receives 13-Year Sentence for Baby Daughter's Fatal Hairdryer Burns

Courtney Gartshore, 28, has been sentenced to 13 years in prison for the manslaughter of her three-month-old daughter, Dahlia-Rose. The child died in August 2022 from extensive burns, described by prosecutors as "significant and sustained heat" injuries, inflicted using a hairdryer.

The court heard that Dahlia-Rose suffered severe burns to 40% of her body, including her scalp, face, and limbs.
