
Murder Arrest After Man Dies in Leicester Park Incident
Leicestershire Police have confirmed the arrest of a 33-year-old man on suspicion of murder, after a 62-year-old individual died following an incident in Beaumont Leys Park.
Emergency services were called to the park, near a retail area, just before 19:00 BST on Monday, responding to reports of an unconscious man. The victim was subsequently taken to hospital, where he sadly succumbed to his injuries.
Investigation Underway
A significant area between Krefeld Way and Beaumont Way has been cordoned off to facilitate a thorough examination of the scene by officers. Detective Inspector Kevin Hames, from the East Midlands Murder Investigation Team, stated that the investigation is in its early stages. The victim's family have been notified and are receiving support from specialist officers.
Police are urging anyone who was in the vicinity of Beaumont Leys Park on Monday evening and may have witnessed the incident, or possesses any relevant information, to come forward. CCTV footage is being reviewed, and house-to-house inquiries are ongoing as part of the extensive investigation.
